ZWEI-MILLIONEN-EURO-PROJEKT VON LAND UND BAHN

Landesregierung und Deutsche Bahn rüsten auf im Kampf gegen die Graffiti-Schmierer: Mit
einem Zwei-Millionen-Euro-Projekt sollen 100 ganz besonders betroffene NRW-Bahnhöfe und
S-Bahnstationen vor Schmierereien geschützt werden.
Ein Einsatz, der sich lohnt: Denn die Graffiti-Entfernung kostet 8,5 Millionen Euro – und zwar jedes
Jahr. Ortstermin am S-Bahnhof Friedrichstadt: Verkehrsminister Lutz Lienenkämper (40, CDU) und der
Bahn-Bevollmächtigte Reiner Latsch machten sich gestern ein Bild der Verschmutzungs-Lage.
Lienenkämper: „Graffiti ist kein Kavaliersdelikt! Der Schaden geht über die Sachbeschädigung hinaus –
denn ein verschmierter Bahnhof wirkt verwahrlost, verursacht Ängste und beeinträchtigt nachhaltig das
Sicherheitsempfinden.“
Was jetzt passiert:
• In 100 Bahnhöfen und Haltepunkten werden alle glatten Flächen mit einer speziellen Schutzschicht
eingesprüht, von der man Graffiti einfach mit Wasser abwischen kann. In Düsseldorf sind das u.a. die
S-Bahnhöfe Bilk, Derendorf, Eller-Mitte, Gerresheim, Hellerhof und Wehrhahn.
• Die Schmierereien sollen zukünftig spätestens nach 72 Stunden entfernt werden. Ziel: Der Urheber
(der sich oft als „Künstler“ sieht) soll frustriert werden, da kaum jemand seine Bilder sieht.
Reiner Latsch: „Wir nehmen den Farbschmierern ihr Erfolgserlebnis. Neben der rauchfreien
Zone wollen wir so demnächst auch eine graffitifreie Zone schaffen.“

Der Graffiti-Wahnsinn in unserer Stadt wird immer teurer. Jetzt fordern Stuttgarter Politiker
härtere Maßnahmen gegen die Schmierfinken.
Die Zahlen machen wütend: Die Stadt Stuttgart musste 2009 eine viertel Million Euro für die
Beseitigung von Farbschmierereien ausgeben. Zwei Jahre zuvor waren es noch 150 000 Euro.
2009 zählte die Stuttgarter Polizei 2 689 größere Graffitis. Vergangenes Jahr ermittelte die
Bundespolizei in 607 Fällen von Schmierereien an Bussen und Bahnen des VVS.
Eine Sprecherin: „Ein dramatischer Anstieg. 2008 waren es noch 469, im Jahr zuvor nur 420.“
Bahn-Experten schätzen den Schaden in Baden-Württemberg auf fünf Millionen Euro.
Die Sprühdosen- und Schmierstift-Rowdies suchen sich auch immer öfter Privathäuser aus,
verschandeln ganze Stadtteile. Ulrich Wecker (39), Geschäftsführer von Haus & Grund Stuttgart:
„Selbst wenn ein Täter ausfindig gemacht wird, sind das meist Jugendliche, bei denen man wenig
Aussicht auf Schadenersatz hat.“
Baden-Württembergs Justizminister Ulrich Goll (59, FDP) konnte zwar 2005 eine Strafgesetzänderung
(§ 303, StGB) erreichen, die härtere Strafen gegen Graffiti-Schmierern vorsieht. Doch sie wird laut
Staatsanwaltschaft von Stuttgarter Richtern kaum angewandt.
CDU-Stadtrat Philipp Hill (48) schimpft: „Wer durch wiederholte und großflächige Graffiti-
Schmierereien zigtausend Euro Schaden verursachen, bei dem muss die Justiz auch eine
Freiheitsstrafe in Erwägung ziehen!“

Winning the 2009 Red Dot Award for Green design is this refillable Color Dial Spray, a novel design for a spray can that contains four color cartridges (CMYK) in the one can. Two dials (for hue and brightness) help the painter achieve the exact color required. The concept was developed by designers Kim Youngsuk & Kim Woosik of South Korea. In South Korea, around 180,000 tonnes of cans are produced every year. The recycling rate for these is only around seventy-one per cent. Those that are discarded lead not only to the wastage of metal and an increase of garbage, but also to a greater consumption of raw materials and energy in order to produce more cans.
According to South Korea’s metal can resources society, the country’s use of metal cans is gradually reducing, but the consumption of aluminium cans in particular is increasing due to a greater consumption of beer. Plenty of spray cans are wasted as well, being discarded after a single use. Color Dial Spray aims to reduce their consumption.
Generally, spray cans contain only one colour. If only a small amount of paint is required, there will be considerable wastage. Color Dial Spray is a new type of spray can that contains CMYK colour cartridges in the one can. The user can immediately change the colour by turning the colour dials near the top of the can.
There are two dials: one for hue and one for brightness. These allow for precise mixing of the particular colour desired. The colour cartridges can be refilled many times over. This helps with the reduction of waste. The compact form of Color Dial Spray is convenient and portable

In knapp drei Jahren wird es in Stuttgart eine neue S-Bahn-Baureihe geben, die BR430. Sie wird die alte BR420 ablösen und wird u.a. von Bombardier in Hennigsdorf gebaut. ;-)
